Year 1-8

BIG IDEA: When we read the Bible, we look for Truths revealed about God, humanity, and God’s big rescue plan.

MEMORY VERSE (Week 1 of 3): Joshua 1:9
Here is what I am commanding you to do. Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go.  NIRV

SERIES:  Studying the Bible (Foundation Worldview)

BIBLE TEACHING: Psalm 1

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:

  • Look to interpret God’s Truth rather than look for their own meaning.

  • Remember the three themes of the Bible (God, Humanity, and God’s big rescue plan).

  • Have a new skill in engaging with Scripture, especially with descriptive passages.

Preschool

MAIN POINT: I can love others.

UNPACK IT: Through what I say.

MEMORY VERSE: “Be kind and tender to one another. Forgive one another, just as God forgave you because of what Christ has done.” Ephesians 4:32 (NIrV)

BIBLE STORY: The Wise King
(Secondary Stories: Boy King Josiah, The Lame Man)

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:

  • Hear that they can love others.

  • Know that we can love others through our words.

  • Understand Jesus wants us to love others the way he loves us.

Life Groups

Life Groups really are the heart of our church. They are small groups of people who can encourage one another as we all seek to follow Jesus together. They are spaces where you have the opportunity to get to know people on a deeper level than will ever be possible at a Sunday service. They are places where you can dig into the Bible together and pray for one another. If you are not in a Life Group and you’d like to be, please get in touch and we would love to help you find one.

Rightnow Media

Did you know that anyone that is part of The Street Church can have access to an amazing collection of Christian video resources at Rightnow Media? It contains all sorts of goodness for kids and adults alike. If you don’t already have a login click on the link to get set up and enjoy!

Baptism

Jesus clearly instructed us that when we repent and choose to follow him, baptism is the first step in that new life of following him. If you haven’t been baptised and would like to be, please get in touch and we’d love to talk to you about it. Email east@thestreet.org.nz or talk to your life group leader or Simon and Jenny.

Giving

Giving financially to your local church is a Biblical principle that is key to training each of our hearts in generosity and is a declaration that money is not our master. The money you give here is used to lead and operate this location of The Street, but also more widely to support The Street as it seeks to reach Wellington with the gospel. It also helps support several national ministries and international missions.
If you give financially to The Street; thank you. If you don’t yet give financially and would like to find out more about how you can start, check out the information below.
