We are pleased to announce Georgia Eilering has been employed as our newest staff member.
Anna Watson is heading into a 12 month Maternity Leave period as she and Matt welcome their third baby boy. Georgia has been appointed to this part time position while Anna is on leave. Georgia will start on 30th June and from then be the Central contact for Life Groups and Connections.
The senior leadership are excited about this opportunity to develop Georgia and see where God would lead her.
Keep reading to find out a bit more about Georgia.
Kia ora everyone! My name is Georgia and I am SUPER excited, blessed, and grateful to get to work with you all. My hope in this role is ultimately to cultivate and nurture relationships with other people and with the Lord - my heart behind everything is God calling us to delight in Him, and so I try to keep a posture of positivity, fun, and joy in everything I do. While Anna is away, I hope to journey alongside the work she has done and add to it in a fruitful, effective way!
Little bit about me... I was born and raised in Whangarei, Northland and grew up in The Salvation Army church before moving to Wellington in 2021 for university - studying a Bachelor of Arts in Media and English. I had a friend attending The Street Night and started coming along, fell in love with the community, and never wanted to leave! For the past year and a half, I have been living and working at a Christian camp and conference center in Calabasas, California - this has become a kind-of second home for me. Working and serving in camp ministry helped me realise that God was calling me to continue down a path of servitude, and that my love for working with people in creative ways is a gift He has given me to walk out and use to build the Kingdom. I also work for Northern Easter Camp as their Comms/Creative Area Head (I call this my side hustle). I LOVE traveling, and have found my closest relationships and richest experiences come from stepping outside of my comfort zone and trusting in God's goodness. This new role for me has come at the perfect time, and I cannot wait to step back into The Street community as a more refined, on-fire-in-the-spirit version of myself.
Kids Zone takes the first couple of weeks off for the school holidays. On the 20th of July they begin a new series looking at the Lord’s Prayer. On the 20th the focus is ‘Our Father ‘and on the 27th the focus will be ‘Your Name Be Honoured’
Kids Zone Junior also takes a break starting back on the 20th looking at the stories of David and Goliath and The Brave Queen as they think about the truth that God Created Me.
Kids Zone Junior uses The Beginner’s Bible.
We are one church that meets across multiple Locations and prioritise loving one another as we grow as disciple makers. God is at work in and through each Location and we take time each term to celebrate stories and lift specific needs in prayer.
Click here to read the prayer and celebration points for East, Hutt, Mt Vic, Night, Porirua and West.
Kids Zone completes the Heroes of Faith series looking at King David, Jonah and Paul.
The fourth Sunday in June is centred around Matariki and they finish the month with Kids Zone at each Location taking a break from regular curriculum to serve their community.
Kids Zone Junior finishes the cycle of ‘I Can Love Others’ through the story of Jesus Goes To Heaven. Then they move into ‘God Loves Me’ focussing on the stories of the Lost Sheep, The Beginning and The Lord is My Shepherd. On the 22nd of June they have a special focus week on Matariki.
Kids Zone Junior uses The Beginner’s Bible.

A big thank you to all who have and are making the Wednesday community dinners at the Strathmore Community Centre happen. Our goal is to provide good food and love people like Jesus would. Each week we get the privilege of meeting with around forty people for dinner. If you are interested in joining in, eg, helping with making food, building relationships and cleaning up afterwards please let Jenny jenny.gill@thestreet.org.nz or Andrea know. Any contribution both small and large is greatly appreciated.
At The Street we're passionate about transforming Wellington and the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. We are pleased to announce Joel Cooper has been employed as our newest staff member.
The appointment of Joel is endorsed by Senior Leadership and we are excited to have him on board. Joel comes onto the team to replace Ross Jones in the Property Management role, as well as steps into the accountancy role, which Sam Lienert has been holding since Kathy Dunn retired in 2018. Joel is the guy to be in touch with for any room bookings at Hania Street either in the Worship Centre or Life Centre.
Keep reading to learn a little bit about Joel - and feel free to send a message to welcome him! joel.cooper@thestreet.org.nz
Kia ora! My name is Joel and I've been part of The Street Church for over five years now! I am part of the leadership team for our Night community as the Local Lead for Worship.
Growing up 'underneath the keyboard' (as my mother often reminds me) is a great representation of both my lifelong involvement in the church and with Jesus, but also a picture of my love of music. I grew up between Auckland and Whanganui, but moved to Wellington early in 2020 to study music for film at Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University. Five years later, I have finished my masters in the same subject, and continue to use my love for music and creativity in many facets of my life. I passionately love Jesus, my family (my parents, my twin brothers + wives and children, and my little sister), and my wider Street Church family.
Kids Zone begins a new series called Heroes of Faith. Each week we will look at the story of one well-known character in the Bible. Rather than focusing on the characters themselves, we will focus on what God is doing through that character.
Over May we will look at a character on the first and last week - with the two weeks in the middle focussing on Mother’s Day and a special time as we gather Together from all six Locations at Wellington College on the 18th.
Kids Zone Junior spend the first and last week looking at ‘I Can Love Others’ through the stories of The Wise King and The Good Samaritan. In the middle weeks they also focus on Mother’s Day and our gathering at Together. Kids Zone Junior uses The Beginner’s Bible.
Dakoda Raymond Earnest Schleif
12/10/2007 - 31/3/25
It is with much sadness that we share the passing of Kody Ray.
The Schleif family have been part of The Street Church for over 20 years. During the past decade, they have been unable to regularly attend Sunday services due to Kody's medical needs, but Ange has a deep connection with her Mosaic group and many, many families from across The Street Locations will have a connection with the family in some capacity.
Kody's fighting spirit and love for his family, which shined through till the end, will be sorely missed.
A funeral for Kody will be held from 11am at 9 Hania St on Thursday the 10th of April.
Anyone is welcome to join Ange, Shawn, Brooklyn, Paxton and their wider family and friends for this celebration of Kody's life and to say goodbye.
Kids Zone completes the Life of Jesus series looking at the following two aspects of who Jesu is. Jesus is our Saviour and Jesus is our risen, living Lord.
Kids Zone Junior spned two weeks looking at the Easter story through the following Bible stories. Jesus is Arrested and Crucified and Jesus is Risen!. Kids Zone Junior uses The Beginner’s Bible.
Both Kids Zone and Kids Zone Junior take a two week break for the school holidays.
