Job Vacancies - Youth Pastor and CAP Debt Coach

We are sad to let you know, that our youth pastor; Matt Swank has handed in is resignation, largely due to burnout. His last day will be Sunday 8th September. Matt and Ang, along with their children; Reuben, Jael, and Abigail will be leaving The Street to explore ways to make disciples, and potentially church planting/micro churches. We are so grateful for the way their whole family has poured so much love and energy into the young people here at The Street and we want to pray that God would bless them abundantly as they make this transition.

This does mean that we are now seeking to recruit a new Youth Pastor to replace Matt. The role is 30-40 hours per week and would suit someone who is passionate about helping our young people become multiplying disciple-makers.

We are also looking to fill a volunteer role within our Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre. Merrie who is our Debt Centre Manager leads a team of Debt Coaches who are trained by CAP to engage with clients to deliver the specialist debt help that CAP partners with us to provide to people in unmanageable debt. We particularly need a debt coach who could focus on meeting clients in the eastern suburbs of Wellington. You don’t have to live in the eastern suburbs, but you would be predominantly visiting clients in that area. The role is a voluntary role that requires approximately 8-12 hours per week. You do not need any previous financial experience as full training will be provided. The most important requirement is that you love Jesus and are committed to sharing his love with those who are struggling with debt.

Applications close 9th of September. If you would like to know more about either of these roles, please contact the office for the Job Description and details of how to apply. Email: office@thestreet.org.nz
