Our overriding guidelines are:

  1. to only collect information that is necessary for the functions of The Street Church to be carried out well, and;

  2. to refrain from passing a person’s contact or other information to another person without explicit permission to do so, and;

  3. to remove information that is no longer necessary for the functions of The Street Church to be carried out well.

In practice, this will mean:

When somebody is in the process of providing personal information to The Street Church we always:

  • Display our privacy statement, and;

  • Provide an “opt-out” opportunity so they can choose that their data is used in a limited way and not kept, and;

By completing this form, you agree to the collection of your personal information and its use by staff and volunteers at The Street Church and for it to be updated when you participate in any ministry or provide us with updated or new information. It may be used to contact you, assist with the planning and operation of ministries, record your participation in ministries or help us provide pastoral care to you and your family.

Access and removal of information

To access, correct or request removal of your information, please contact office@thestreet.org.nz .

Only a legal guardian may complete a form on behalf of another person.

A couple may both record their information on one form but both people must authorise the completed form.

When significant information about a person (e.g. their engagement, marriage) is received from a source other than a person directly involved, we will request permission from the persons themselves before storing the information and/or announcing the information.

We record the facts of a person’s involvement in ministries:

  • leading

  • providing discipleship, serving as part of a team or serving individually

  • providing pastoral care for another person or persons

  • participating in a discipleship ministry (e.g. where they are a recipient of discipleship through life group, pre-marriage, etc)

  • receiving pastoral care

When a person reveals to a leader or staff member significant information that is relevant to their ongoing pastoral care, it will be confidentially noted.

When a person leaves The Street, we:

  • review their data and delete or summarise anything not required if they were to return, and;

  • archive their remaining information, which:

    • limits access to only staff who are authorised to access archives, which is restricted to contact database administrators and key ministry leaders in the Life arena, and;

    • allows for the history to be recovered should the person return to The Street.

Securing your information

We take reasonable steps to ensure the security of personal and sensitive information we hold and to protect it against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure.

Our IT systems are password protected and comply with applicable security standards. Only authorised personnel are permitted to access these details.
