Description
This is the penultimate instalment in the extended Pillars series. So far, we’ve covered the following:
• The Bible (‘Bestseller’)
• Origins
• Trinity
• Salvation
These are the core pillars of belief the Church is built on. We come now to look at the church herself. We have previously taught on the nature of the church through metaphors: bride, body, temple, family, but this series is more focused on a practical view of the church—what is the church? How am I part of it? What am I to do in it? The series will help believers better understand what it means to be part of the church.
The Church, Part 3: Baptism // Simon Gill
November 10, 2024 - Simon GillBaptism is one of the most important things a follower of Jesus can ever do, yet it isn't a requirement for salvation. So, how should a church practice it, and what makes it so important? In the third part of our Pillars: Church series, we look at what the Bible says about baptism: what it means and how it should be administered in the church.
The Church, Part 2: Leadership // Simon Gill
November 03, 2024 - Simon GillJust as denominations hold to different practices and traditions, they also structure their churches differently. What's the difference between an elder and a pastor? Do you need a Senior Pastor to lead a church? In the second part of our Pillars: Church series, we will examine what the Bible says is essential for church leadership.
The Church, Part 1: Orthodoxy // Jerram Watts
October 27, 2024 - Jerram WattsWhat do you have to believe in order to be a Christian? Are there things that all churches across history have agreed on? Why are there so many different denominations? These are important questions to grapple with, as knowing what we believe and why we believe it will help strengthen and inform our faith. As we kick off our Pillars: Church series, we look at the foundational truths our faith is built on, and why they form an unshakeable foundation.
